Emi Saito

Manager, Quality Control

My Story at Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services

What has been your career path?

I started in the quality control department where I was in charge of quality control of oligonucleotides. In this role, with the support of the people I work with and the extensive experience I gained, I have been able to grow both my personal skills and knowledge.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

There are many things that are not yet known about the analysis of oligonucleotides, and I have had the opportunity to attend various external seminars and meetings with customers to learn more, which is very exciting to me.

It was a profound event in my career when I had the opportunity to speak as a lecturer at a seminar on nucleotide analysis sponsored by Waters Corporation.

Also, I gained valuable experience participating in a meeting to discuss the regulation of oligonucleotide therapeutics in Japan, based on my experience here.

What is special about the culture at Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services?

I think the company culture centers around putting patients first and sparing no effort to provide a wide variety of high-quality services across all Aji Bio-Pharma capabilities.

What have you gained from working here?

Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services has the most experience in contract development and manufacturing of oligonucleotides in Japan as well as considerable experience in analysis. I have worked in oligonucleotide analysis since I joined the company, and with the help of the people I work with, I have gained an exciting and wonderful experience that I cannot have at other companies.

How do you help impact Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services mission and vision?

We believe that the development and optimization of methods for analyzing oligonucleotides and the execution of analysis work will enable us to deliver better quality products to patients, which will have an impact on our mission to improve the health of humankind.
